Destiny Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit ministry corporation formed by
Larry & Mary with the primary purpose of sharing the gospel message of Jesus
Christ through the music and worship ministry.
Larry recently resigned from Clearwater Community Church in
Richardson, Texas where he had served as the Worship Pastor and
Administrator for the
past eight years. He and Mary are networking and seeking the next
ministry where the Lord would have them to serve. He seeks to encourage and inspire believers of all ages to
worship and praise the Lord. A wide variety of musical interests are
incorporated into Larry's ministry - mainly using the music
of today and seeking to reach the people of today. In all he does
Larry
strives for excellence in both "the state of the art" and "the
state of the heart." Musicianship and Discipleship are combined to prepare
believers for presenting praise and worship to the Lord. In addition to
the music of worship, Larry also incorporates other creative arts
into worship experiences including readings, drama, technical and
visual arts.
Larry sings, plays piano, keyboards, and guitars, and has produced
numerous recordings, musical dramas, and dinner theater productions.
The Kents have served in churches in Texas, Wisconsin, Michigan and
Utah, and have been involved in most ministry areas of the local
church. Larry and his wife, Mary, met
in Youth Choir and
have been a team in ministry for more than 30 years. Their son, Zak,
graduated from Texas A&M in 2010 and is living and working in Colorado.

Bio
info on the Kents
Larry:
Three hours after I was born, my mother dedicated me to the LORD. Mom
had grown up playing the piano and singing gospel music in church, and
wanted her son to honor the LORD. Sometimes when people ask how long
Ive been playing the piano, I will tell them that Ive been
on the bench since conception! I can still hear, in my memory, that
old upright piano ringing out with Brighten the Corner Where You
Are as Moms hands danced up and down the keys. To this day
I have an insatiable appetite for the music.
Growing up in church, I trusted Christ during Vacation Bible School
at age 9, and eventually became an accompanist in Youth Choir. One of
the sopranos in the Youth Choir caught my eye! One day I gave her a
call, a few years later I gave her a ring! Mary and I have
enjoyed the privilege of serving churches in several different states,
and came back to Dallas from Salt Lake City, Utah in the summer of
2003.
Mary:
Mary was born into a military family in South Carolina, and grew up
in Paris, TX. She is an artist making stoneware pottery and
various forms of painting. Another of her passions is collecting and
utilizing an extensive costume collection! Helping people have fun as
we grow together in the LORD is one of Marys special gifts.
In the church, Mary enjoys planning and putting on retreats and
special events. She has always worked closely with Larry in the ministries.
In 2006 Mary published a book
through Xulon Press, "Simple Ordinary
Stuff, Lookin' At Life Through Funny Glasses." The book is a collection of her short
stories of real life experiences with a devotional format.
Her witty sense of humor shines through as she tells of the
ups and downs of everyday living.
Zak:
Zak graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 majoring in Recreation,
Parks, and Tourism Science. His interests include playing drums,
river rafting, mountain hiking, snowboarding,
and spending time with friends. Zak can be seen riding his
unicycle, slack-lining, or "hanging out" in one of his hammocks!
He played drums as part of the worship team at Emmanuel Baptist Church in
Bryan, TX through his years at A&M, and is now living in Buena
Vista, Colorado, working as a whitewater river guide in the summer
months. Zak loves the Lord and enjoys sharing his faith with others.
